![]() Phase One had this Sensor also into their IQ250 50 MP Digital Back.Īt Photokina 2016, Fujifilm announced the 50 MP GFX System and their GFX-50S then.which was released over 4 Years ago now.how Time flies. Whileas Pentax was #1 with the 44x33mm Medium Format Sensor Size into the Pentax 645D (it was the Year 2010, and with 40 MP) they brought MF to the Masses (compared to Hasselblad, PhaseOne, Mamiya, Leaf, Kodak, etc.) and later with the 645Z into Spring 2014, after that 2 years of nothing.then Hasselblad came out of the Bush with their XD-1 50c, and the same Sensor in June 2016. I think, Fujifilm doesn't make much Money with the GFX-100S, the Sensor alone would be 50-60% of the Body Price. That's what i've thought already over 4 Years ago, when reading Jonas Rask GFX-50S Review.there is some special Sauce, Depth, Tonality, Gradiation.and 3D Pop.about the Fujifilm GFX System.and now with real 16-bit RAW, what the 102 MP 44x33 Sensor can deliver. Hint: The GFX-50R was 3410 EUR into Germany, now 3499 EUR today, Body only. ![]() Sensor size is clearly not the determining factor in price. The price of cameras varies substantially for various makes and models of the same format. On 1.5x APS-C sensors, that’s f/4 and f/6, roughly 1.3 stops of difference. Because actual full-frame sensor sizes are often slightly smaller than the nominal 36 x 24 mm size, actual increase varies from 6770. And, by actual magic (AKA physics), full-frame sensors are about two stops better in high ISO performance than 2x crop cameras. all these 45/47/50 MP 36x24mm Sensors, with their smaller Photosites and -Pixelpitch therefor. Your apertures in this case are f/4 and f/8, as I showed a moment ago. A full-frame camera uses a 35mm image sensor, while a medium format cameras sensor is between 35 and 130mm. Similarly, medium format digital photography uses a sensor that’s bigger than the 35mm full-frame standard. This would draw really more "Fullframe" Users to the GFX System, and from Tonality, Rendering & Gradiation, the 50 MP 44x33mm Sensor.i would still way much prefer this "fuller Frame" Sensor vs. ![]() Hypertheoretically, there would not much R&D being to-do for such a Task. ![]() Fujifilm could recycle the GFX-100S, only exchanging the Sensor and some Adaptions/Tweaks, IBIS & Firmware from the System matched to the 50 MP MF Sensor. And sitting on Top over the Fujifilm X-T4. It would also open a complete new World for Medium Format for the Masses. Imagine, a "budget" GFX-50S Mark II, with no Display Hump at the back, same Size and Body Design from the current Fujifilm GFX-100S, and the 50 MP Sensor, with IBIS and MultiShot, 200 MP.but for 2495 to 2995 USD only! ![]()
